My purpose as a instructional consultant / designer is to add long-lasting value to an organization by analyzing its needs and responding with the most engaging, practical, and cost-effective instructional support that results in specific, measurable performance improvement & desired business outcomes.
Instruction to improve performance should be direct, concrete, and targeted to specific performance issues.
You’ll find, reviewing my resume and the work samples provided, that I have been able to apply my training and experience to a variety of organizational contexts.
Learning Management System Experience
At Weill Cornell Medicine, I was tasked with migrating existing elearning from the Canvas LMS to SuccessFactors, as well as providing training in the new system through software simulations and job aids.
My responsibilities included taking existing courses delivered through Canvas and ensuring that instructional requirements were transferred to the new system, creating workflows for uploading learning, assigning roles, creating courses, and establishing completion criteria, and re-designing existing Captivate eLearnings so that they would work efficiently on the new thin-client server system;
Solving technical issues and capturing best practices as we transitioned to new system.
I produced a 40+ page document outlining all the issues with developing Captivate and other eLearning on a thin-client system, as well as numerous flowcharts showing how to add users, courses, etc.
At Con Edison, I implemented the Adobe Captivate Prime (now Adobe Learning Manager) LMS for the Energy Services Division, defining roles of learners, administrators, managers, etc.. and uploading courses, assessments, and other learning materials.
I transformed over 60 subjective, short-answer paper assessments to objective, online assessments using a variety of answer formats (multiple-choice, drag-and-drop, sequencing, true/false, and hot-spot) that could be delivered online.
Moodle / Totara: On my own, I am currently developing online instruction to be delivered through Moodle and have gained proficiency in that LMS as well.
